PEKANBARU - The schedule for the Regional Conference (Musda) of the Golkar Party in Riau Province is still awaiting a decision from the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Golkar Party.

Ikhsan ,Vice Chairman for Electoral Victory of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Riau Golkar Party, stated that all cadres and board members of Golkar Riau are ready and are simply waiting for the official schedule from the central leadership.

"We are ready, just waiting for the schedule from the Central Executive Board,” said Ikhsan, as quoted by Tribun Pekanbaru, Wednesday (April 9, 2025).

Ikhsan added that the delay in the Musda schedule is being experienced by all regions across Indonesia, with no province having officially announced its conference date.

"We are still waiting for directions and the official schedule from the Central Executive Board. So it's not just Riau; no region has received a schedule yet,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Golkar Party in Riau, Parisman Ihwan, expressed hope that Riau Province could become the first region in Indonesia to hold the Regional Conference. He believes that Golkar Riau is fully prepared for the event.

"We hope Riau can be the first to hold the Musda. This shows our seriousness and readiness in welcoming the party's major agenda,” said Parisman Ihwan.

Parisman also emphasized that an early Musda in Riau would send a positive signal about the party's unity and readiness to face upcoming political agendas, including the simultaneous regional elections (Pilkada).

Therefore, the Regional Leadership Council of the Golkar Party in Riau has expressed its readiness should the Central Executive Board entrust it with being the first to hold the Musda.

At present, two Golkar Riau cadres remain in the spotlight and are predicted to compete for the position of Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of the Golkar Party in Riau—Parisman Ihwan and SF Hariyanto. (*)
