PEKANBARU - The Corruption Eradication Commission confirmed that one of the officials caught in the sting operation (OTT) was the Mayor of Pekanbaru, namely Risnandar Mahiwa.

“Yes, that's right, the arrest of the Mayor of Pekanbaru,” said Deputy Chairman of the
Corruption Eradication Commission, Johanis Tanak, as reported by detik.com, Monday
(2/12/2024).

Along from the Mayor of Pekanbaru, a number of officials were detained in the Arrest Operation, however the Corruption Eradication Commission has not specified who was involved, including the evidence recovered.

Previously, Nurul Ghufron, Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission, stated
that the arrest operation had occurred. He said that the arrest operation was focused on state
officials.

“It is true that the Corruption Eradication Commission has arrested state officials in the
Pekanbaru area, Riau,” said Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Nurul
Ghufron.

Ghufron has not identified the individuals arrested. The Corruption Eradication Commission has 24 hours to evaluate the legal standing of the detained parties.

“The Corruption Eradication Commission team is still carrying out the inspection process for
1 x 24 hours. Please be patient first and once it is finished we will convey it to the public,” he
