PEKANBARU - Riau Province National Zakat Amil Agency is currently carrying out the process of realizing school uniform assistance for high school and equivalent students in Riau who are less fortunate.

"Currently there is still a disbursement process in finance. Some have been transferred to the account, some have not. It is being processed," stated Masriadi Hasan, the Chairman of the Riau National Zakat Amil Agency, on Monday
(13/1/2024).

According to the data his party received, 2,750 students from 282 schools in the province of Riau were deemed eligible to receive assistance with school uniforms, he added.

"In all, 282 high schools and technical high schools in Riau are home to 2,750 students. We will reopen this data in 2025, however it is only available to recipients in 2024," he said.

Masriadi Hasan said that the time for the registration process as recipients of school uniform assistance for underprivileged students in 2025 is not yet certain.

"The budget already exists. But we can't confirm when it will be opened, because we have to complete the realization for 2024 recipients first," he said again.

Previously, the Riau Province National Amil Zakat Agency had opened registration for prospective recipients of school uniform scholarships for students from underprivileged families.

This program was announced through an official letter numbered
411/UM/BAZNAS-PR/IX/2024 on September 19 2024, which explains the terms and conditions for applying for assistance.

"This program is sourced from zakat from State Civil Apparatus within the Riau Province Education Service. And it targets schools under the Riau Province Education Service, because the zakat distributed is zakat from teachers and employees within the Riau Education Service," said Masriadi Hasan, Wednesday (2/10/2024).

This school clothing assistance program for underprivileged students will be directly transferred to each student's account.

"The nominal amount that students will receive is IDR 800 thousand or for 3 pieces of school clothes.

Distribution will be made by transfer to each student's account. The school only applies according to data on disadvantaged students at the schooll," he explained.
